Unique Characteristics:

CityWalk sits atop a picturesque hill overlooking Los Angeles. The unique outdoor dining and shopping promenade is grounded in entertainment and features a mix of some of Los Angeles' most distinctive landmarks and numerous top-name brands in dining and retail as well as an eclectic collection of enjoyable street performances, live entertainment and boutiques.

Size:

Approximately 400,000 square feet, resulting in two full blocks of CityWalk entertainment.

Dining:

Universal CityWalk caters to every taste, representing nearly every food genre available with offerings ranging from casual to more sophisticated dining. Some of CityWalk's signature eateries include Andrew's Panda Inn, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Buca di Beppo, Camacho's Cantina, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, Jillian's, Karl Strauss Brewery Company, Wasabi at CityWalk, Tony Roma's, Wolfgang Puck L.A. Bistro, Saddle Ranch Chop House, Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, and Samba Brazilian Steakhouse & Lounge.

CityFood (Food Court) & Other Quick Service Eateries:

CityFood is a food court representing some uniquely Southern California eateries including Los Angeles' famed Cuban cafe Versailles, Dodger Dogs, and Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers — and national favorites Panda Express, Subway, KFC Express, Pizza Hut Express and coming soon, Taco Bell. On CityWalk's second floor balcony, CityFood features hundreds of outdoor tables overlooking the street's cinema plaza, a perfect backdrop for people watching and meal sharing.

Along CityWalk, those in the mood for a quick bite can also enjoy The Crêpe Café, Jodi Maroni's Sausage Kingdom and Puccino Pizzeria.

Snacks & Refreshments:

CityWalk also features treats and indulgences that include: Ben & Jerry's, Cinnabon, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Jamba Juice, Mercado Chocolaté Loco, Popcornopolis, Starbucks Coffee and Wetzel's Pretzels.

Shopping:

A mix of one-of-a-kind shops as well as national retailers, CityWalk guests enjoy an eclectic choice of merchandise including trend-setting retailers such as Abercrombie & Fitch, GUESS? Accessories, LUSH, Hot Topic, GameStop, Kelly Slater's Quiksilver Boardrider's Club, Skechers, SCENE, Billabong, and Fossil. Unique offerings can be found at Salvatory Shoes and Shémoni Sterling Silver Jewelry. CityWalk also serves as a collector's haven with stores such as Dodger Clubhouse Store, Hard Rock Cafe - Retail Store, Magnet Max, Martin Lawrence Gallery, Sparky's, The Raider Image, Things From Another World, Adobe Road, and Sports Avenue. CityWalk's retail mix also enjoys a bit of funky kitsch with offerings from The Los Angeles Sock Market, Upstart Crow, Stop & Play and Flip Flop Shops. Nightlife:

Universal CityWalk offers guests a variety of entertainment choices at its CityLoft, a trio of night clubs including: Howl at the Moon, a dueling, sing-along piano bar; Rumba Room, a multi-level Latin music club. Jillian's features disco bowling, arcade games and multiple bars. Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood features casual dining amidst signature rock memorabilia. Saddle Ranch Chop House invites Hollywood's urban cowboys to dance, drink, dine and dare to ride their two signature mechanical bulls. Comedian, actor and writer Jon Lovitz adds a new role to his list of credits as he becomes proprietor of Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, a gala new comedy showcase with some innovative twists.

Unique Entertainment:

Besides Shopping and Nightlife, Universal CityWalk is home to a number of unique entertainment options. The completely re-modeled CityWalk Cinemas Stadium 19, a theatre complex with 18 screens as well as a 422-seat giant IMAX theater, features Hollywood's newest releases and is home to many "red-carpet" events. Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk draws performers from every music and performance genre. iFLY Hollywood lets visitors experience what it's like to fly with indoor skydiving and Zen Zone provides a unique moment of "zen" in Los Angeles.

Sight & Sound:

Universal CityWalk boasts a state-of-the-art audio and video system throughout the two-block promenade, which enhances visitors' experience by immersing guests with various sights and sounds unique to each section of CityWalk. The sight and sound system also has a giant 16 x 22 foot outdoor jumbo screen which feeds the latest music videos to Cinema Plaza.

Hours of Operation:

Sunday through Thursday - 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday - 11:00 a.m. to Midnight
Some clubs and restaurants stay open later.
Hours vary by season.

Access:

CityWalk is conveniently located adjacent to the 101 Hollywood Freeway and is serviced by the Metro Station.

CityWalk Design:

The acclaimed architect, Jon Jerde, put his signature imprint on Universal CityWalk to create a city within a city. His company, Jerde Partnership, Inc. and Daniel, Mann, Johnson and Mendenhall were ultimately responsible for developing the overall look and comfortable feel of the "street." CityWalk is approximately 400,000 square feet in size. It was originally opened in 1993 and was expanded to its current size in 2000.
