The completely re-modeled CityWalk Cinemas Stadium 19, a theatre complex with 18 screens as well as a 422-seat giant IMAX theater, features Hollywood's newest releases and is home to many "red-carpet" events. Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk draws performers from every music and performance genre. iFLY Hollywood lets visitors experience what it's like to fly with indoor skydiving and Zen Zone provides a unique moment of "zen" in Los Angeles. Sight & Sound:Universal CityWalk boasts a state-of-the-art audio and video system throughout the two-block promenade, which enhances visitors' experience by immersing guests with various sights and sounds unique to each section of CityWalk. The sight and sound system also has a giant 16 x 22 foot outdoor jumbo screen which feeds the latest music videos to Cinema Plaza. Hours of Operation:Sunday through Thursday - 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Access:CityWalk is conveniently located adjacent to the 101 Hollywood Freeway and is serviced by the Metro Station. CityWalk Design:The acclaimed architect, Jon Jerde, put his signature imprint on Universal CityWalk to create a city within a city. His company, Jerde Partnership, Inc. and Daniel, Mann, Johnson and Mendenhall were ultimately responsible for developing the overall look and comfortable feel of the "street." CityWalk is approximately 400,000 square feet in size. It was originally opened in 1993 and was expanded to its current size in 2000. |
